Hoffman, dead

This.

I'm not proud of this.  But I drew it and I believe it.  This was avoidable.

Just in case you don't know who this is, there is this, and this.  Also, this is me blinking at you in shock, wondering where your rock-shelter is.

It really is a shame.  This was avoidable and he was SOOO good.

So, I'm not failing, quite.

So I bought a tablet. The tablet did not support Adobe Mobile. I bought a phone. The phone does.  I'm still getting used to the new tool, and am attempting to become proficient at drawing in an all digital format.  For the next few weeks, you will see regular drawings of weirdos and other demons as I learn this medium all over again.  Here is no. 1.

Yep.  Looks like I just found MS Paint for neophytes.

Isn't She Wonderful?

I took a the Oatmeal quiz, post my results, and this young lady comments with this picture.  All I had to do was add a quote of hers, said in earnest.  Amazing how your words can come back to make you cackle.

This doesn't count as my New Year's Resolution drawing.  That will be up later...

Waste of time...

Today I spent 10 minutes melted in a recliner, trying to balance a golf umbrella on my forehead.  I ended up with a strange premonition that this is what retirement might one day be… should we be allowed to retire one day.

By then, this style will really be “old-timey.”

Delays and Complaining

I haven't posted in months. I can blame it on work, and life, and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah I'm fargin' lazier than I thought.

I've written several posts that have never been slapped up onto this metaphorical bathroom wall. I never put them up because I do not have ready illustration for them. I have worked at the illustrations, but something is wrong. In some strange way, my abilities and skills have gone by the way side. Either life’s priorities have changed enough that drawing means less to me, I'm terribly out of practice, or I've had some sort of undiagnosed stroke. Since I am not Sheldon Cooper, I discount the last option.

To combat this, I have coldly resolved, this year, to post a drawing at least every 3 days. I shall hammer this block away as quickly as a man may plod away that extra holiday weight. Draw your own conclusions.

In the meantime, here is the last thing I succeeded in scrawling outside of a business meeting.

That's right.  Moo.  What are you gonna do about it, kid?

They Shut that Motha' DOWN!

I've got a few posts I haven't had time to do.  Maybe now I'll have a moment to finish the art, what with the ridiculous time I've been putting in at the office.  Stay tuned.

Happy Patriotic Day Off!

Today I want to wish everyone a happy day of revelry, remembrance, and appreciation of all those freedoms that we haven‘t had overtly removed.  I know I will be expressing myself  frequently, loudly, and incoherently, if drunkenly, and remembering those who have served, died, and died while serving.  I have the right to be awesome here, and I know there are places I would not be allowed to be so.  I appreciate that.  I hope you do, too.

This is a great country, but it is in no way perfect, and our leadership seems, at times, to not have made it past an 8th grade maturity level.  Seriously.

Ok, in the spirit of  our rebellious forefathers, I want you to be the most patriotic American on your block, So here’s my suggestion:  We have the ability to change the people who actually run the government, but we have this habit of staring at the figurehead that we have no control over.  Instead of getting all angry at the President, who you can’t legally replace at this point, try learning about what your Congressmen actually do & vote on.  Figure out if they are part of the idiot problem, and vote against them if they aren’t helping.

START HERE:    http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/
                            http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

If your Congressmen are part of the problem, and the other candidate makes you sick, don’t be scared of the third party option.  Find someone who represents you and vote for them.  If no one does, you may need to run, personally.  Seriously, if you can get a few thousand friends on Facebook, you can get elected.  I’ll tell you a little secret:  Appeal to senior citizens.

No matter what, talk (don’t preach or push) with your friends about this.  Make it popular.  Make the Representatives people, and not just part of a faceless, all encompassing, hive minded Congressmonster that I shall call Congrazilla the Obfuscator.

If people are aware of them, and what they do, maybe they won’t keep electing the same pile of fools.

In any case, have a great Independence Day.  Don’t drink and drive.  Get a ride home if you‘ve had a couple, and drink a glass for me.

A longer post will be up in the next couple of days, with lots of goofy drawings and little mini comic strips.
